The Advisory Committee on Information Resources (ACIR) met in the conference room ofthe Commission on Higher Education on May 6, 1998 at 10:30 a.m. Ms. Brown called themeeting to order. One correction was made to the minutes from the Jan. 13, 1997 meeting:'In the student enrollment file, the fields citizenship, birthdate, race, and genderare updated on each student when valid data is received.' The next quarterly meetingwas scheduled for July 7, 1998 at 10:30 a.m.

Ms. Brown asked everyone if they had received the transfer matrix sent to the CHEMISprimary contacts.

Enrollment

Ms. Brown opened the floor to discuss any changes that might need to be made on theHigh School Gpa field. There was some discussion on non-traditional students.

Residency Class

Ms. Brown discussed the possible need for an addition to the residency classificationfield to distinguish those students who receive in-state status with a scholarship of lessthan $250 per semester. She mentioned that this issue will be going before the Commissionsoon.

Racial Categories

Issues concerning unknown racial data and new racial categories to produce meaningfulcounts need to be addressed. Ms. Brown said she would like to wait on addressing theseissues further until the new definition of the racial categories are defined in IPEDS.

Faculty

Ms. Brown outlined the following reporting questions that need to be addressed andanswered:

Oklahoma Reporting (Research Universities)

Institutions should report the primary instructor of record on credit courses. Somefields need to be added to the faculty and/or course file to address 1.) PerformanceIndicators 2A1, 2A2, and 2F (Public Service Y/N), 2.) Team Taught Courses (Instructor ofRecord) and 3.) Variable Credit Courses (if any students are taking courses for 5 credithours or more).
