The South Carolina Commission on Higher Education understands the challenges that high school and first-year college students face! Considering the many deadlines, scholarship applications, FAFSA information, and more, new students in higher education can easily feel overwhelmed. To facilitate a smooth transition, the CHE is looking for students to guide others across South Carolina. These students would become College Process Ambassadors. The Ambassadors would highlight college application and success resources to support the upcoming class of high school graduates and college students. They would actively assist others via community outreach; they will participate in and promote events related to College Application Month, College Goal SC, and College Decision Month.
The students will be high school seniors, expecting to graduate by the end of the academic year. To apply, students must submit a completed nomination form (signed by an administrator at your high school), complete the short-answer application, and send an unofficial copy of their high school transcript to Antonia Adams, College Access Consultant, at email@example.com. This year’s deadline for application materials is September 6, 2021. Selected students will obtain up to $1,000 in scholarship funds, personalized support and feedback from the SC Commission on Higher Education, and professional training on how to support other students during the college application journey.
